Head-Quarters Middle-Brook Tuesday May 25th 1779.

Parole Charleroy—C. Signs Co’os—Cambray—

The 2nd Virginia brigade to be reviewed tomorrow morning; the review to begin on the right at seven ôclock.

The 1st Maryland Brigade to be reviewed on friday, and the 2nd on saturday next.

Alexander Scammell’s orderly book entry for this date includes the following additional general orders: “A Serjeant Corporal & twelve Privates from the Maryland line to mount tomorrow at Genl Du-Portails quarters and to be relieved every two days” (orderly book, 22 Dec. 1778–26 June 1779, DNA: RG 93, Orderly Books, 1775–1783, vol. 28).
