1The enclosed resolution of 4 May expressed Congress’s approval of Rhode Island’s raising a battalion of 1,500 troops for one year, on Continental pay and subsistence and at a bounty not exceeding $150 per man, on condition that no further wages be allowed above what other Continental troops received (DLC:GW; see also JCC description begins Worthington Chauncey Ford et al., eds.
