Letter not found: from Brig. Gen. James Potter, c.17 Feb. 1779. GW wrote Potter on 2 March: “I have recd your favr without date.” Potter replied to GW on 6 April and included in his postscript: “I assk pardon for the plunder of not deating my letter it was wrote in Philadelphia about the 17th of Feby last.”
