The General Court Martial of which Col. Chambers was President is dissolved.
A General Court martial is to sit at ten o’clock this forenoon, near Gen. Maxwell’s quarters,1 for the trial of all prisoners which shall be brought before them; Col. Shreive is appointed president of this court.

1. Brig. Gen. William Maxwell apparently had joined the main army at Morristown during the first week of July after having been sent from Westfield to a position between New Brunswick and Perth Amboy on 21 June (see GW to Hancock, 22 June, and General Orders, 9 July).
