The Diaries of George Washington. 6 vols. Charlottesville, Va., 1976–79. description ends , 2:31).

2. On 16 Jan. GW was “At home all day at Cards—it snowing” (ibid., 32).

3. GW spent the night of 19 Jan. at Belvoir.
