From George Washington to Henry Harrison, 20 April 1756

To Henry Harrison

[Winchester, 20 April 1756]

To Captain Henry Harrison.

I congratulate you on your safe arrival at Fort-Edward—If Ensign Hubbard applies to you for a reinforcement, you are to detach to his assistance a party of ten men:1 and if you have the same application from Homer’s-Fort,2 let them have the like number; and a small quantity of ammunition, if it can be spared. Yours

2Horner’s, or Homer’s, fort may have been another name for the fortification at Friend Cox’s at the mouth of the Little Cacapon River. See GW to Harrison, and to Edward Hubbard, both 23 April 1756.
