The bill making provision for adjusting and compensating the claims of the citizens of the United States for Property Lost, captured or destroyed, during the late war has passed both houses of Congress, & will probably soon receive the approbation & signature of the Executive, & become a very important Law. Rights, of great amount, will necessarily fall under the consideration & decision of the Commissioner who may be appointed to carry the provisions of the Law into operation.
