Richmond 6 Feby. 1816
Capt. Ketcham who has been for some Years in the army but now out of Service, wishes to get appointed Assistant Commissary of Issues at St. Louis. His having been a Soldier will of itself enlist Yr. feelings in his favour. Permit me to say that these feelings will Seldom be engaged for a Gentleman who more merits or more wants some such Employment. I hope if there is no Candidate of Superior Claim that my friend Capt. Ketcham will be favourd with Your Patronage. I am respectfully Yours
