Washington May 20. 1806
In compliance with the wish expressed in your favor just recd., I enclose a few lines to Genl. Armstrong on the subject of your intended trip to Paris. I take the liberty of adding a document under an official seal, which I flatter myself will as it ought to be, a superfluous precaution, but which contingencies may render otherwise.
With my best wishes that you may have an agreeable voyage, and find in the event no reason to regret it, I remain Dr. Madam with the greatest respect Your most Obedt. Servt.
