The appended list (4 pp.) included seventy-three nominations for appointments in the infantry, artillery, Third Regiment of Riflemen, commissariat, and medical department, beginning with Eleazer Wheelock Ripley’s promotion from colonel to brigadier general. JM submitted the nominations to the Senate on 12 Apr. 1814 (DNA: RG 46, Executive Proceedings, Nominations, 13B-A2; printed in Senate Exec.
