§ From William Lattimore. 17 January 1814, House of Representatives. “I have been requested to furnish you with the inclosed extract from the proceedings of the H. of R. of the M. T. for reasons which I will do myself the pleasure of explaining verbally, at such time as I may suppose you to be somewhat relieved from more weighty concerns.”

The enclosed extract (2 pp.; printed in Carter, Territorial Papers description begins Clarence Carter et al., eds., The Territorial Papers of the United States (28 vols.; Washington, 1934–75). description ends , Mississippi, 6:413–14) reported the actions of the Mississippi Territory House of Representatives on 14, 21, and 22 Dec. 1813, relating to the selection of ten candidates to be nominated to JM for the territory’s five-member legislative council.
