§ From Jonathan Jennings
28 May 1813. “I enclose you two documents which I did not receive until after the adjournment of the last session of Congress.”
Printed copy (Carter, Territorial Papers, Indiana, 8:260). Jennings enclosed a resolution of militia officers who were members of the Indiana Territory legislature, 18 Feb. 1813 (ibid., 8:239–40), recommending that William Henry Harrison be given “a higher and more permanent command in the army of the United States than any that has yet been conferred on him.” The second enclosure has not been found.
