1. The enclosure (1 p.) lists twenty-three regimental appointments from North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and the Missouri Territory. From this list, which JM forwarded to the Senate on 18 Jan., nine appointments were approved the following day and the rest by 18 Feb. (Senate Exec.
