16 July 1811, Washington. “The smallness of the sum, and the probability that it might be augmented by some further advances, have occasioned a delay in remitting $11.81. due to you, as intimated in your letter of Octobr. 5. last.”1 Encloses a draft for the sum on the Manhattan Bank.
