§ From the Mississippi Territorial Legislature
22 November 1809. Asks JM to take the necessary measures to extinguish Indian land title to the “rich and beautifull country on the Yazou which seperates our settlements from each other.” Assures JM the purchase “is of the first importance to the prosperity of our Territory.”
