From William Riggin, 10 September 1806 (Abstract)

§ From William Riggin. 10 September 1806, Trieste. “The order prohibiting English and Russian vessels to enter this port, as well as the other ports of his Austrian majesty, is not recalled,1 but the English and Russians have not taken any hostile steps in consequence; and this port continues to be respected by the belligerent powers.

“Many of our citizens conceiving it to be in a state of blockade, have changed the destination of their vessels: it may therefore be proper to inform you that this has never been the case, and from present appearances there is no probability of its becoming so.”
