§ To Samuel Sterett. 23 July 1806, Department of State. “I have received your letter of the 21st. inst. There being no Agent of the United States at Halifax, it is not in my power to render Mr. Guestier any assistance towards the success of the claim he has to make in the case of the Ship Jennet.”1
