26 April 1804, Norfolk. “I take the liberty of enclosing to you Mr. Marrast’s Certificate of Cit[iz]enship—his wish is to obtain from you a protection such as is usually granted. Permit me to ask the favor of you to return Mr. Marrast’s Certificate if not contrary to form.”
