Letter not found. 13 February 1804, Baltimore. Acknowledged in Brent to McElwee, 17 Feb. 1804 (DNA: RG 59, DL, vol. 14), as notifying JM that the British ship Pelican was then in Hampton Roads and asking JM’s intervention in obtaining the release of his son, who had been impressed onto that vessel.
