Acknowledged in Daniel Brent to Hope, 14 Feb. 1804 (DNA: RG 59, DL, vol. 14), as an inquiry about the impressment and detention of Andrew Malony on the British ship of war Boston, as was Hope’s 10 Feb. 1804 letter [not found]. Brent stated that application had been made to Anthony Merry “some time past” to intercede for Malony’s release.
