I have the honor to propose for your approbation the following promotions in the Corps of Engineers (viz)

Captain William A Barron to be promoted to the rank  of Major
Captain Jared Mansfield " ditto " of Major
1st Lieut James Wilson " " " of Captain
1st Lieut Alexander Macomb " " " of Captain
2d Lieut Joseph G. Swift " " " of 1st Lieutent.
2d Lieut Walker K. Armistead " " " of 1st Lieutenant

And that William McKee, a Cadet in the Regiment of Artillerists be transferred to the Corps of Engineers
