Washington July 15. 1803.
Th: Jefferson presents his friendly salutations [to mr] Strode. the arrival of the treaty of cession of Louisiana, [rendering it] necessary to call Congress in October, he will leave this place earlier than he had intended. he will probably breakfast with [him] on Thursday or Friday morning next. he wishes him health.
