To Dwight Foster

Th: Jefferson requests the favour of The Honble Mr. Dwight Foster to dine with him the day after tomorrow—at half after three, or at whatever later hour the house may rise.

Dwight Foster (1757–1823) was elected as a Federalist to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts in June 1800, after serving in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1793. He was the younger brother of Senator Theodore Foster of Rhode Island (Biog. Dir.
