Please to furnish Capt. Markham for the use of the brig Jefferson with twenty three fathom of seven inch rope, six coil of spunyarn, 150 ℔. seine twine, six coil of 2½ inch rope, three coil of 2.I. do. and one coil of 3½ I. do. six hanks of Marline six do. of Housline two coil of Hamberline.

Captain Charles Thomas of the Virginia Navy was master of the ropewalk at Warwick (John H. Gwathmey, Historical Register of Virginians in the Revolution: Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, 1775–1783 [Richmond, 1938], 766).
