Thomas Jefferson Papers

To Thomas Jefferson from the Board of Trade, 29 October 1779

From the Board of Trade

[Williamsburg] 29 Oct. 1779. The salary of Mr. James Warren, assistant in the agent’s office, has never been fixed. Forty pounds per annum, payable in tobacco at twenty shillings per hundred, seems an ample compensation. Signed by Ambler and Rose.
