[London, October 2, 1793. On April 1, 1794, Dewhurst wrote to Hamilton and referred to “my letter of the 2 Octr.” Letter not found.]

1. Dewhurst was a former New York City businessman and a former director of the Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures. In 1792 he had become a bankrupt in the United States and England.
