Port Washington [North Carolina] April 26, 1792. Acknowledges “the Receipt of your Letter of the 2nd Instant2 Covering A Commission from the President of the United States to me as Inspector of the Revenue for this port Likewise yours of the 4th3 which is now before me.” Writes “Respective the Stakage of the Shoals in this State.”

1. Keais, who had been appointed collector at the port of Washington, North Carolina, on February 9, 1790, was appointed inspector of the revenue for the same port on March 8, 1792.
