Mr Harrison presents his respectful Compliments to His Excellency, is sensible of his polite Invitation at same Time is sorry that an Indisposition that has Kept him confined since his arrival in Paris, prevents his having the Honor to wait on His Excellency on Thursday next.5

4The handwriting is unfamiliar to us. We suspect that this is the American merchant George Harrison, who was based in Nantes and met BF in August, 1783, when BF gave him a letter of introduction to Vergennes: XL, 490–1, 509.
