Herewith you will receive Two Letter which I was requested to deliver to You from Two of Your Friends in England. But My Stay here being rather uncertain I determine to forward them directly.6 At my Arrival at Paris I shall do Myself the honour of waiting of on You. In the Mean time I am very respectfully Sir Your most humble & obedt Servt

5. Although born in England he now was an important manufacturer in France: XXIII, 480n; XXIX, 260n; XXXIV, 175–6n.

6. One of the letters must have been Priestley’s of Dec. 10, above. Seven weeks later he forwarded a packet from Silas Deane to Edward Bancroft and announced his intention to send a print to BF: Wilkinson to WTF, Feb. 27, 1782 (APS).
