Coll. Samuel Hanson of Alexandria who is desirous of an appointment under the General Government will have the honour to present this letter. The respectability of his Character Education & connections will I trust warrant the liberty I have taken in recommending him to your notice, in which I have been also encouraged by your friendly attention to me at London as well as from my knowledge of your disposition to distinguish merit on every occasion. If an opportunity should offer wherein you can render Mr Hanson any Service, be assured Sir I shall esteem it an obligation conferred on me.
