On February 16, 1795, Edmund Randolph wrote to Oliver Wolcott, Jr.:1 “Let me beg the favor of you to take some immediate and definitive arrangements respecting the pilot-boat,2 upon which your Predecessor wrote to General Matthews on the 5th. ultimo.”3 Letter not found.]
1. Wolcott was comptroller of the Treasury from November 5, 1791, until he succeeded H as Secretary of the Treasury on February 3, 1795 ( , 88, 171).
