1. This letter is mistakenly dated “1794.”
2. This Providence, Rhode Island, firm was a part owner of the Furnace Hope. See Coxe to H, June 27, 30, second letter of August 9, October 8, 1794.
3. Samuel Hughes operated the Cecil Iron Company at Havre de Grace, Maryland. See Coxe to H, June 27, third letter of June 30, October 8, 1794.
