Letter not found: from Thomas Green, June 1790. On 8 July 1790 Lear wrote Green that: “The President has received your letter of June.”1

In his letter to Green, Lear added: “As it has been contrary to his [GW’s] practice to suffer any accounts against him to remain unsatisfied for so long a time he thinks it possible there may be some error in your account that may be rectified by a recurrence to his books or papers at Mount Vernon—As soon as information respecting this matter can be received from thence, whatever may be due to you shall be paid as you desire” (DLC:GW).
