My Dear Papa

Nothing can exceed our wishes to hear of the health & safe arrival of yourself & Brother. Since we had the pleasure of hearing of you by the atlas,1 I have search’d the papers in vain in hopes some other Vessels might have been equally fortunate, but now I believe we must await letters from yourself & brother, announcing your arrival, which we flatter ourselves has been the case before this— You my dear papa I suppose will be too much engaged in business to favor us with accounts of England but from Brothers pen we dare hope that pleasure. As Mama & ^Nancy^ are both writing I fancy what little of news there is they communicate. For myself I am with Mama’s approbation studying french & I hope will [be] able to give you satisfaction on your return. Little William & Sally do not by your absence or distance forget the affection & tenderness they have ever experienced from you, but on the contrary shew interesting marks of tenderness for you which pleases us all & delights Mama— please to remember ^me^ to Brother & be assured my dear papa that in duty & affection the little folks shall never rival Your dutiful daughter
