I have the honor to inclose a Letter from Mr Daschkoff1 and an Exequatur made out in compliance with it.

1. André de Daschkoff to Robert Smith, 29 Aug. 1809 (DNA: RG 59, Notes from the Russian Legation). The consul general requested an exequatur for A. Eustaphieff, Russian consul at Boston.
2. Francis James Jackson and his entourage arrived at Hampton Roads on 29 Aug. aboard the frigate L’Africaine, then proceeded up Chesapeake Bay. “We landed at Annapolis on the 5th inst., after a pleasant passage of fifty-three days” (Francis J.
