Sir,
I have the honor to enclose for your acceptance the documents connected with the communication made to both Houses of Congress, at its late session, by the late President of the U. States, on the subject of locating the Indians, now within our States & Territories, West of the boundaries of Missouri & Arkansas.1 I accompany them with the assurance of my highest respect & esteem.2

1. Message from the President of the United States, Transmitting Sundry Documents in Relation to the Various Tribes of Indians within the United States, and Recommending a Plan for their Future Location and Government (Washington, 1825; 23004).
2. McKenney enclosed a note to Dolley Madison, dated the same day: “Col McKenney’s complime[n]ts to Mrs Madison, with his best wishes for her health & happiness. Col. McKenney has seen Mr Todd, Mrs Madison’s son occasionally, and as late as the day before yesterday, he is well” (DLC; 1 p.).
