Sir,
I received yours of 2d Instant last night and am obliged for your care of my Letters as I shall for any others [that] may come to you. I desire you to Send me your weekly news Paper at the price others give you. Sir with my Compliments to Mrs. Franklin, Your Ready Friend and humble Servant.

8. On Belcher, see above, I, 176 n. He was appointed governor of New Jersey in July 1746, his commission was dated February 1747, and he arrived in his government in August 1747.
