To Thomas Jefferson from John Hampden Pleasants, 2 January 1826

Richmond 2d Jany 1826

Dr Sir,

Returning from England in October last, the enclosed Packet was intrusted to my care by Mr Rufus King Am. Mer in London—I have kept it Very long, to use it as an excuse for visiting Monticello, & I hope that no inconvenience has occurred by the delay—

I remain Sir, With deep Respect,

Jno Hambden Pleasants

MHi.
