Nicholas Hoffman & Co.1 at New York, to Tench Francis2 Esqr. dated on the 22d instant, and this day received by me from the hands of Mr. Francis.…”

1. Coxe, who was responsible for procuring military, naval, and Indian supplies, had hired Nicholas Hoffman and Company to obtain goods for the Indians. See Coxe to H, June 23, 1794.
2. Francis was the agent for purchasing War Department supplies.
