Treasury Department, Register’s Office, 5 Nov. 1793. On behalf of the Secretary of the Treasury, he requests an estimate of the sums needed “to defray the Expences of your Department” for 1794 for the purpose of forming a general estimate to be submitted to Congress at its next meeting.
