Mr Adams has the Honour to inform Dr Franklin that the American Ministers for the Peace, are desired by the British Minister to meet him at the Hotel du Parc Royal, Wednesday, at Eleven, for a Conference concerning the Definitive Treaty.

3. In JA’s hand, with a note that he sent a similar letter to Jay.

In the note JA wrote to Fitzherbert at two o’clock that afternoon (see the annotation of the preceding document), he added that the American peace commissioners were “ready to enter into Conferences concerning the Preparations for the definitive Treaty of Peace,” and requested Fitzherbert to appoint the time and place.
