8These were the eight boxes of printing type that BF had ordered from Caslon in June, 1779. He had instructed Caslon to ship them to Fizeaux, Grand & Cie. in Amsterdam, and had then told the Amsterdam firm to forward them to Rouen, care of John Holker: XXX, 610–12. The type arrived in Rouen, but was addressed to M. Le Breton; see our annotation to Henry Grand’s letter of [before April 23], and Holker to BF, April 26.
