Df, in Alexander Hamilton’s writing, DLC:GW; Varick transcript, DLC:GW. The Varick transcript incorrectly identifies the recipient as Jonathan Haskell.
Henry Haskell (1738–1807) of Shirley, Mass., served as captain of a company of minutemen in the spring of 1775 and in 1776 as a captain in Col. William Prescott’s 7th Continental Regiment. In January 1777 Haskell became lieutenant colonel of the 15th Massachusetts Regiment, and he apparently left the army by July 1779.
