Treasury Department, August 13, 1793. “I have directed the Treasurer of the United States, to furnish you with a draught on the Office of Discount & Deposit at New-York, for Seven Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty five Dollars; for the purpose of enabling you … to discharge a half years pension which will become due to the Invalids of the United States on the 5th of the ensuing month.”1
