This Lloyd may be John Lloyd (1751–1811), who was traveling through Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia at this time as a partner of his brother-in-law, Osgood Hanbury (1731–1804), of London (Pa. Mag., 35:502–5, 249; GW to Osgood Hanbury & Co., 4 Aug. 1774, DLC:GW).
