Virginia native Thomas Marston Green (1758–1813) moved to the Natchez region in the early 1780s. A member of the Mississippi Territory’s first general assembly, he served as the territorial delegate to Congress from December 1802 to March 1803, filling the vacancy caused by the death of Narsworthy Hunter ().
None of the men recommended by claiborne received the appointment to be surveyor of the lands south of Tennessee, which instead went to Isaac Briggs (Vol. 32:502n).
