New York Assembly. Motion for Leave to Bring in a Bill

Mr. Hamilton moved for leave to bring in a bill to amend the charter of the Corporation for the relief of Widows and Children of Clergymen in communion of the Church of England, in America.1
Ordered, That leave be given accordingly.
Mr. Hamilton, according to leave, brought in the said bill, entitled An act to amend the Charter of the Corporation for the relief of the Widows and Children of Clergymen in the communion of the Church of England, in America, which was read a first time, and ordered a second reading.

1. The act introduced by H was passed by the legislature on February 19, 1787. It provided that the name of the corporation be changed; that its by-laws conform to the laws of New York; and that its accounts be subject to the revision of the governor, chancellor, and chief justice of the state ( I, 411–12).
