I take the liberty of proposing the following gentlemen as Ensigns in the Regiments of Infantry, in the service of the United States: (viz)

Simeon KNIGHT and Joseph DORR received ensigns’ commissions dated 29 Apr. George Thompson ROSS had been a lieutenant of artillerists and engineers from December 1796 until his resignation in May 1801. On 3 May 1802, he was commissioned as an ensign and second lieutenant of the 2d infantry regiment ( , 1:379, 606, 846).
