1. Huntington, a resident of Connecticut and a signer of the Declaration of Independence, was a member of the Continental Congress from 1776 to 1784 and President of Congress from September 28, 1779, to July 6, 1781.
2. Du Portail, a native of France, was a brigadier general of engineers and commandant of the Corps of Engineers and Sappers and Miners.
