Sir
I have the honor to transmit herewith the accounts called for by a resolution of the House of Representatives of Friday last,2 together with a Statement by the Register exhibiting the detail of the Estimate, to which that resolution relates, and the copy of a letter from him to me of this date.3 As the accounts are original papers, and necessary documents of the Treasury, I pray that the House will be pleased, after making the use intended of them, to cause them to be returned.

On November 30, 1792, the House of Representatives “Resolved, That the Secretary of the Treasury be directed to lay before the House the accounts of the Commissioners of Loans, for the current year, by which his estimate is formed for appropriating thirty-five thousand and sixty-three dollars and twenty-eight cents, for the salaries of Clerks and for stationery, in the Loan Offices of the United States, to the thirty-first of March, one thousand seven hundred and ninety-three” (, 631).
